Shoot #7 – Get Wed at the West Mill
The West Mill is one of my favourite Derbyshire wedding venues. I mean, just look at it. It’s an old industrial mill dating back to the 1800s, and we’ve shot there before, but it’s now all been restored into Grade I listed wedding venue glory.
After having a couple of our brides get hitched at the West Mill – including our first Real Bride Lauren – I was uber keen to crack some dresses out and be a part of this shoot with the West Mill team and Tickety Boo Events. I’m not sure they were expecting a six-month-pregnant waddler with a steamer to show up!
The West Mill have a funky little dressing-room boudoir for you and your bridal squad to get ready in. We got set up with the hilarious James from James White Hair and Jenni from Make Up by Jenni (both based in Nottingham). The perfect team to relax you and get you looking your best on the morning of your wedding day.
And then there’s Danniella and Ramisha from Blake Models, who sickeningly aren’t just a pair of flipping beautiful faces. Ramisha’s an aspiring writer and Danniella even jumped on the piano at one point to serenade us. (She’s in a band and has her first single out as a solo artist.) #GirlCrushes
We shot in the main West Mill wedding venue, as well as in the Mill House which is available to rent for some truly VIP accommodation on site.
So get your bridal moodboards out and enjoy the photos!
